Due to the incredible growth of the online phenomenon called eBay, dropshipping has become very popular with the people of today, but at the same time it has become extremely misunderstood. Even though dropshipping has been around for well over a hundred years, the process still seems to confuse many people.

Dropshipping is a way of buying items and then distributing them out directly to the customer on your behalf. In other words, there are three groups of people in this process. There is the party that manufactures the item, the party that distributes the item, and then there is the party that resells the item and benefits the most from this whole process.

There are seven pretty simple steps in the dropshipping process.

The first one is to find a product that you would like to sell.

The second step is to find a supplier who will agree to be your dropshipper.

The third step is to make an account with that person who agreed to dropship for you. (Most frequently this can be done through the phone or online, but some companies do require a completed reseller application before allowing you to open an account.).

The fourth step is to begin advertising for your product to sell on eBay or a website similar to eBay. (You will advertise your product by an eBay auction, making sure to set a reasonable price for it so that you make money and do not lose money.).

The fifth step occurs when your product sells. I advise to accept instant payments on your items, as it permits the customer to pay right away and speeds up the whole dropshipping process remarkably. If the customer pays faster, you can alert the dropshipper faster, who in turn will be able to get the product to your customer faster. A win-win-win situation, correct?

The sixth step is now to place the order with your particular dropshipper. This should be done immediately so that the product gets to the customer as soon as possible. The dropshipper will then send the item to your customer under your name and company address.

The final step is to make sure you follow up after the sale is complete. Many people forget about this part or just choose not to do it, but it might be one of the most important steps. Numerous people are afraid to even buy online after hearing horror stories, so make sure that everything is perfect with your customer and that nothing is wrong with your item!
